A couple weekends ago we had the pleasure of photographing the Oakes Family. They have a great sense of humor & were pretty adventurous, which led to some fun times at this family shoot. Here is a small preview!

Meet Lindsay.
Three things you might not know about Lindsay (in her own words):
1. I have [physically] been through a basketball hoop.
2. I can detect the taste of artificial sweetener in most anything I consume, because I really do not like the taste/after taste.
3. I usually prefer to use plastic children’s plates over big ceramic plates.
There are many reasons why I love this gal, but I won’t go into all of them. 
I got to know Lindsay over the past year during her internship at my church, SHCC. She is uber creative & also shares an interest in photography. She studied graphic arts in college & has done some very cool work. It seems we were destined to be friends. I am grateful for our friendship & the fact that she is constantly encouraging me in my creative endeavors & is always a willing model.
A huge part of what inspires me about Lindsay is how much FUN she is. Man, hanging out with her is a blast! Its been so great to get to know her this past year. I cherish my friendship with her & value her creativity. I also appreciate that she is able to understand all the things I miss about Maryland, & the very different culture in which I grew up because her hometown is not too too far from my own. Let’s just be honest, Texas and Maryland can be very different worlds at times, & it’s nice to have a friend who understands that.
I’m in the planning stages for a few creative projects & I am excited to hopefully collaborate with her. She has such a great eye for style & color & sees the world in such an interesting way. I’m so glad to know this wonderfully creative lady.

I thought we would kick off the series by telling you a little about ourselves.
Matt:
1. Authors who inspire me with prose (self-expression): William Faulkner; Jose Saramago
Authors who inspire me with metaphors (lenses of reality): Rainer Maria Rilke; Anne Sexton
Authors who inspire me with characters (understanding of humanity): Fyodor Dostoyevsky; Charles Dickens
2. Gotta admit, Anime and Manga are A. Maze. Ing. And I don’t care how nerdy that makes me.
3. I love pig. All forms of it. I will eat most anything if it has pork, or bacon, or any other form of pig. I’ll eat it.
Kelly:
1. I was a cheerleader for 11 years and was the co-captain of my college cheer squad my junior year.
2. I love fall. I love the smell of autumn air, the feel of leaves crunching below my feet, brisk air & wearing jackets. I wish that the entire year could be just like the months of September to December.
3. I hate pig. All forms of it. I will eat most anything, as long as it doesn’t have pork, or bacon, or any other form of pig. I won’t eat it.
1. We have been married for almost 2 years (our anniversary is in 16 days!!).
2. We both L-O-V-E Coffee!!! And we enjoy finding new local coffee shops around town.
3. We are both night owls. Mornings are painful and grouchy.

Last week Matt’s uncle Ken and aunt carolyn were in town and we were able to have dinner with them and the grandparents on Thursday. It was nice. I really like maudie’s in bee cave.

Welcome to Kelly C. Photography!
It wasn’t too long ago that there were some changes over at Obscure Details Art. I said goodbye to blogspot and said hello to wordpress. The Obscure Details brand got a bit of a facelift. And it was great! It worked, it fit but I knew that some bigger changes and some re-working were going to be needed in the future. As my business grows and changes, my brand needs to as well. So, once again Its time for a change.
This is my new website, but its a lot more than that. I have been diligently working on this for months and its finally time to launch! There are a lot of great new features that I’m excited for you to try out.
This space funcitons as my website where you can look at my portfolio, find out about my pricing, contact me, and where my clients can look at private online galleries of their images. But its also my blog where you’ll be able to see all my recent work. Its pretty exciting.
I’ll be posting a few recent photo sessions as well as some cool and fun giveaways for the launch this week so check back every day this week!
